ATM lessons in English via Zoom
The awareness correlates between the intention to achievement
I am a trained Feldenkrais trainer and have taught advanced seminars in this capacity for many years at Feldenkrais Skolan. Over the years, I have also taught teachers trained in the TAB format who lacked theoretical understanding. The necessary complement I represent has been appreciated and encourages me to take on this new teaching venue in the English language.
I also welcome amateurs and people genuinely curious about exploring ways to improve their ability to manage their life process.
Moshe Feldenkrais is clear in his writings that a preference for theory-based learning makes exploration easier. This approach helps avoid the common misconception that Feldenkrais is merely about movement or gymnastics.
These classes follow the spirit of the Alexander Yanai lessons in the 70s, where people could simply come, take a place, and join. On Zoom, the form is different — but the same openness remains.
How the class is organized
The Zoom room opens at 8:45 AM. You are welcome to arrive early for informal conversation and personal questions.
The class starts exactly on time. Please note that the flow will not be adjusted for late arrivals.
Each class begins with a short introduction or Q&A, followed by 45–50 minutes of guided lesson.
After the lesson, you are invited to stay for 15–20 minutes of optional feedback and clarification. If you need to leave directly, that is perfectly fine.
What you need
A quiet space where you can move comfortably on the floor.
A mat or blanket to lie on.
A stable internet connection for Zoom.
The cost per lesson is 225 SEK, approximately 20 euros or 21 dollars
I usually teach and supervise people I have already met and know. Since Feldenkrais is a dialogic pedagogy, I strive to design the lessons in a way that stimulates the majority of the participants’ Feldenkrais process and the skills they want to improve.
That said, I teach within the framework of the Feldenkrais path. Sometimes, I use Moshe Feldenkrais’s own lessons as a starting point, or I create my own lessons according to the principles I learned from Yochanan Rywerant. I see the Feldenkrais model as a dialect of the human language of learning and being.
Teaching in English via Zoom will be different at first because the participants are newcomers to me, but not necessarily beginners in exploring according to the rules of a Feldenkrais inquiry.
I teach classical Feldenkrais, integrating theory and practice, which makes the meta-comments important.
I plan my lessons so that a directed reference to Moshe Feldenkrais’s textbook of lessons is available, with various personal interpretations and necessary adjustments. I do not inform about the theme in advance; participants are asked to come with an open mind and trust that a lesson is a lesson.
Each lesson is independent. You can come regularly or drop in (with pre-arranged registration).
Since autumn 2013, I have been publishing recorded lessons on SoundCloud. During the Corona pandemic, I built a special website for this purpose, SvenskaATMpodden [translated with Google Translate, English translation], which is a virtual school integrating theory and practice. The theory section is open to the public, while the podcasts require a subscription.
With this teaching in English, I intend to make the sections available without a subscription, but only accessible via an article in this menu — see panel below.
Classical Feldenkrais is a unifying name for the Feldenkrais Method and the Feldenkrais Profession as taught by Yochanan Rywerant in the name of his teacher Moshe Feldenkrais.
An updated browser has a translating function.
For example, Google translate works well between Swedish and English. If it (or an equivalent) is installed in the browser menu, it is just a click away to make my Swedish texts available. The entire web page can be easily translated if this feature is requested. My four websites are text-rich because Moshe Feldenkrais clearly states that it is easier to explore practical lessons if there is a good understanding of the theoretical structure that underlies his teaching model.
I note that the Swedish "självbild" translates automatically to "self picture"...
