§ 1
Why Teaching in English after 35 years?

In February 2025, I held a seminar in Vienna and in connection with that there was an interest in participating in Feldenkrais lessons via Zoom. I see the task of starting and building such an activity now as a natural consequence of the creation of the website about Classical Feldenkrais and the task of contributing to making Yochanan Rywerant's intellectual legacy accessible and known.

§ 2

Who is invited?

I am a trained Feldenkrais trainer and have taught advanced seminars in this capacity for many years at Feldenkrais Skolan. Over the years, I have taught teachers trained in the TAB format who lacked theoretical understanding. The necessary complement I represent has been appreciated and encourages me to take on this new teaching venue in the English language.

I also welcome amateurs and people genuinely curious about exploring ways to improve their ability to manage their life process.

Moshe Feldenkrais is clear in his writings that a preference for theory-based learning makes exploration easier. This approach helps avoid the common misconception that Feldenkrais is merely about movement or gymnastics.

§ 3
When will I teach?
As a start I invite you to six consecutive lessons every
Tuesday between 9:30 AM - 10:30 PM starting on April 15th.

My role model is the classes at Alexander Yanai, which were a form of drop-in activity when I attended in the 70s. You came, paid at the door, and took an empty place on the floor. Zoom is different in every way.

I need a group of four participants for it to be a meaningful lesson. One intention of this initiative is to build up a lesson bank in English to complement my extensive Swedish.

If I teach at 9:30 AM Swedish time (CET), I open the Zoom room at 9:00 AM, earlier than usual so there is room for small talk and getting to know each other - it builds trust
I start punctually without making any deviations in the flow for latecomers. The lesson begins with a short question and answer session and/or a brief introduction. The lesson itself is 45-50 minutes. After the lesson, participants are welcome to stay for feedback and clarification, usually lasting 15-20 minutes. This part of the lesson is completely optional, and those who leave directly do so as they need and wish.

§ 4
What will I teach?

I usually teach and supervise people I have already met and know. Since Feldenkrais is a dialogic pedagogy, I strive to design the lessons in a way that stimulates the majority of the participants' Feldenkrais process and the skills they want to improve.

That said, I teach within the framework of the Feldenkrais path. Sometimes, I use Moshe Feldenkrais's own lessons as a starting point, or I create my own lessons according to the principles I learned from Yochanan Rywerant. I see the Feldenkrais model as a dialect of the human language of learning and being.

Teaching in English via Zoom will be different at first because the participants are newcomers to me, but not necessarily beginners in exploring according to the rules of a Feldenkrais inquiry.

I teach classical Feldenkrais, integrating theory and practice, which makes the meta-comments important.

I plan my lessons so that a directed reference to Moshe Feldenkrais's textbook of lessons is available, with various personal interpretations and necessary adjustments. I do not inform about the theme in advance; participants are asked to come with an open mind and trust that a lesson is a lesson.

Each lesson is independent. You can come regularly or drop in (with pre-arranged registration).

§ 5

How much to pay?

The cost per lesson is 225 SEK, approximately 20 euros or 21 dollars

§ 7

Did you miss a class or want to repeat?

Since autumn 2013, I have been publishing recorded lessons onSoundCloud. During the Corona pandemic, I built a special website for this purpose, SvenskaATMpodden, [translated with Google translate, English translation, which is a virtual school integrating theory and practice. The theory section is open to the public, while the podcasts require a subscription.

With this teaching in English, I intend to make the sections available without a subscription but only accessible via an article in this menu - see panel below.

§ 9

Classical Feldenkrais is a unifying name for the Feldenkrais Method and the Feldenkrais Profession as taught by Yochanan Rywerant in the name of his teacher Moshe Feldenkrais.

§ 10

An updated browser has a translating function.

For example, Google translate works well between Swedish and English. If it (or an equivalent) is installed in the browser menu, it is just a click away to make my Swedish texts available. The entire web page can be easily translated if this feature is requested. My four websites are text-rich because Moshe Feldenkrais clearly states that it is easier to explore practical lessons if there is a good understanding of the theoretical structure that underlies his teaching model.

I note that the Swedish "självbild" translates automatically to "self picture"...
